Straight pool leagues:
The Shoreline 14.1 league is the oldest straight pool league in the Bay Area. It meets Tuesday evenings at 6pm at Shoreline Billiards in Mountain View, CA. The league is run by John Walker. The handicapping system is the same as the one used by the CSPA leagues. The price is also $10 per match. The Lucky Shot 14.1 league also uses the same handicap system. It meets Mondays at 6pm at Lucky Shot Billiards in Sunnyvale, CA. It is run by John "Lucky" Johnson. The price is also $10 per match. The Santa Cruz 14.1 league uses the same handicap system, but is a round robin "ladder" league. It is hosted by Fast Eddys Billiards, in Capitola, CA, and is run by John Walker. Players can schedule their game any time that is convenient to both players. The price per match is $10 per player.  The Hoboken straight pool league is run by Tim Edmonds. The number of players, and hence, the prize fund is large (~40; $3500), and the price is only $10. The Minnesota straight pool league is a new league that is now forming for the Spring, 2007 season. The league is run by "one-armed" (his MN pool forum moniker).

Pool schools featuring straight pool:
The Pool School is run by Jerry Breisath. He has been involved in straight pool instruction from the 1980's.
San Francisco Billiard Academy is a BCA certified master billiard academy run by
Joseph Meji,  Bob Jewett, and Eric Harada. All three have posted runs over 100 balls, and they are enthusiastic straight pool players and supporters.

Internet straight pool chat rooms:
AZ Billiards has established a straight pool forum recently. There are interesting discussions about straight pool strategy by some well known players.

Straight Pool DVD's and tapes:
Accu-stats Video Productions. By far the best source of straight pool videos on the planet. These tapes and DVDs are both entertaining and educational. If you like straight pool, buy some of these tapes, and tell Pat Fleming you heard about it here (he probably won't know who or what you're talking about, but I'd appreciate the plug). Many of these straight pool matches are incredible! Many runs over 100.
